Medical-grade chemical peels for pigmentation, acne, tan removal, and skin rejuvenation. From superficial glycolic to medium-depth TCA.
Chemical peels are one of the oldest and most effective treatments in dermatology. They work by applying a controlled chemical solution to the skin that causes exfoliation of the damaged outer layers, revealing fresh, rejuvenated skin beneath.
Types of peels at Vernon:
Superficial peels (Glycolic, Lactic, Mandelic acid โ 20-50%): Remove only the outermost layer (stratum corneum). Used for mild pigmentation, dullness, and as maintenance treatments. Zero downtime โ you can return to work immediately.
Medium peels (TCA 15-35%, Jessner's solution): Penetrate to the papillary dermis. More effective for moderate pigmentation, acne scars, and sun damage. Requires 5โ7 days of peeling/downtime.
Combination peels: Our doctors use customized combinations based on your skin type and concern. For Indian skin, specific protocols are followed to minimize the risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.
The Vernon approach to peels: Before any peel, our doctors assess your Fitzpatrick skin type, current skin condition, and medication history. Indian skin (Fitzpatrick IVโVI) requires modified protocols โ lower concentrations, shorter contact times, and mandatory pre-treatment with depigmenting agents to reduce PIH risk. We never use aggressive peels on unprepared Indian skin.
Conditions treated: Tan removal, melasma (adjunct), acne (active and scars), fine lines, age spots, uneven skin tone, and dull skin.
